I am an experianced and qualified carpenter, who is also at home undertaking simple plumbing, electrical work, and especially flatpack furniture assembly.
I specialize in doing the small jobs that other tradesmen are reluctant to take on.
I have over 30 years experiance in the building trade, including an excursion within the last 10 years working with vulnerable people. As a result of this, I'm not just a handy fella, but also someone who knows how to communicate, and find out what you need and why. In most cases this will allow me to offer that little bit extra in the way of ideas and options that you may not have thought of.
Just to keep it simple, I've listed a few of my Values to give you an idea of what I'm about, and what you can expect from me.
Going The Extra Mile
"While you're here, could you put this mirror up for me?"
I've discovered that when I go into someones house to do a specific job, there always seems to be a little forgotten something that will only take a few minutes to do. It will cost me nothing,
so why not simply do it for you?
What do YOU Want?
What other choices are there?
I never go to see a new job with a pre-concieved idea of what my customers want, (or what would be easier for me). I like to find out, not just what you want, but why you want it. The reason for this, is so that I can give you options and other ways of carrying out the work.
Often people come to me asking for things that they are familiar with. In my experiance, there are many ways of looking at a job, and I enjoy sharing these options with my customers.
My customers are often amazed at the alternative solutions that I can come up with.
Value for money
I work hard, and don't waste time on finding extra's just to bump up the bill.
When I leave a job, I like to know that you are happy, that you have more than you expected, and that you feel that the money you've paid me is money well spent.
(I really don't know how else to put it)
"Mike has helped me immensely in maintenance of my house. He's put up guttering and drainpipes, mirrors, window blinds, coat rails, repaired cracked render, taken up old floor tiles, replaced a large window pane and much more.
Mike's approach to any given task is always with enthusiasm and cheerfullness and he achieves great results."
S Harvey, Hambridge
"I'd call him back again and again. Reliable and dependable, and no job is too small".
Carol McArdle, Yeovil.
"I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Mike Howard as a workman. He laid a small patio for us which was finished to a very high standard, we were very pleased indeed. He also painted a fence which was done quickly and again to a very high standard. Mike is polite, honest and hardworking".
Mr & Mrs Green of Crewkerne

Kara Wadham, Yeovil.
